Why not a duck?

My brother, Jim, discovered a baby duckling in the pool today, the day before Easter Sunday, and
as it floated into the pool filter and the dogs barked and chased it, he fished it out of the water and put it into a rubber maid storage container.
When I came down to breakfast, he told me about the duck that came out of nowhere, and when I looked into the black plastic box, it indeed looked newborn and didn't seem to have wings to fly, but it was chirping like a crazy duck.
I poured some purified water into a paper bowl and put it into the black box so it would have something to drink and it hopped right into the water - like a duck to water.
but, then, what to do about the duck?
Jim said he would take it to the vet and so he did.
Before I returned from grocery shopping, the duck (I named Donald) had disappeared.
I was slightly panicked because Jim was on the phone and the box was turned over, and there was no duck.
So, later he explained he took it to the Vet who said they didn't want it and ( Don't bring us wild ducks!)
and yet, they knew a girl who had a pond and wanted to take the duck so -
the duck found a good home with other ducks in a natural setting and will apparently grow into a bigger duck, but frankly, I felt I should have tagged it, so I know what happens next.
But, Jim rescued a duck today
and that's the Easter story of a little miracle for April, 2015.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.
